So after two failed attempts, one me overdosing myself on insulin and spending the rest of the night drinking Lucozade and not sleeping, the other one, me waking up feeling like I was hit by a bus and left in a desert with a blood sugar of too high to be read by my metre, I decided to try again. After all, they say third time lucky.

One of my fellow Loopers was kind enough to help me out and answer any questions or concern that I had around using the system. Which was very helpful. I managed to make a few more small tweaks to the system and I’m ready to try again. I have had the Loop running for the past 24hrs and have been checking what it has been doing with suspend and temporary Basel rates and I feel a lot more confident about it now.

Over the past 3 years I have developed complications from Diabetes and now my blood sugars resemble something like the Himalia’s. I am constantly swinging between ridiculous high and then ridiculous low or just sitting at very high with corrections not doing a whole lot. It is going to be interesting to see the changes in my blood sugars after starting looping. Stay tuned.
