Looping

So I am officially looping!

Looping is something that I have had an interest in since February 2018 when I went to an event called ‘Rise of the Machines’ and Dana Lewis did a presentation on how it all works. From that moment on, I was determined to start looping.

I knew it was not going to be easy and that finding a loopable pump would be the hardest part but I searched high and low in the UK, Australia and in Europe. I finally got my hands on a Medtronic Paradigm and during the time of searching for a pump, I was lucky enough to get NHS funding for the Libre. 

After reading through all the documentation and setting up all the different components I finally had it all built and ready to go.

Sitting at my kitchen table,  I just attached my pump and I’m waiting for…. fireworks? Trumpets? Or some type of giant celebration to occur around me. But nothing. Instead, I tried to pass off the cheers from the tennis crowd as cheers for me.

I had to double check with a friend who is already looping. “So I just put the battery back in the pump and connect it? That’s it?” I do not know why I could not get my head around it all, as it really is just that easy.

Well let’s see what the next 24hrs has in store!
